More Than 30 Turn Out for Inaugural Networking Event

Owensboro Event 300OWENSBORO, Ky. (2/26/14) – Thirty-two people from Owensboro, Henderson, and Evansville turned out for the first networking meeting created by a new grassroots organization known simply as ‘The Network’.

The brainchild of Ken Lawson, Kelly Ford, and Kevin Bruner, ‘The Network’ was created to fill what they saw as a void in the business sector of the city. “The most important aspect of the regular meetings," Ford said, “is to make sure Henderson and Evansville business networkers are invited."

“This is honey for bees," Ford said of the program after the meeting. “We just agreed there’s a need to do something. There was not a whole lot of epiphany. The most difficult part was where to go?”

The first event was held at Carleo’s Food and Spirits on Alvey Park Dr.

All three of the founders said they were pleased with the turnout and expect that the number of people attending will grow going forward.

The event is held every other Wednesday from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. The next session is set for March 12 at Ramada Inn on Second Street.
