Come One and Come All to the Owensboro Multicultural Festival This Saturday

cultureOWENSBORO, Ky. (8/15/14) — Who can imagine that this year marks the 16th annual Owensboro Multicultural Festival?

A whole generation of children started with the festival in preschool or younger, now they are already in college. Hopefully the event has opened their eyes and minds to the whole world.

What exciting things can you expect this time?

We have more than 35 booths including the new Brazil, Japanese animation, as well as a Booth of China, Japan, Ecuador and Native American. Visitors may go around all the booths and find scavenger hunt items to take home, either a fortune cookie or a Go Green sticker. How about enjoying Thai food at the food court, or drink a glass of healthy wheatgrass juice or Egyptian lemonade.

The entertainment starts at 10:30 a.m. with Panther Creek Bluegrass Band and continues nonstop with a journey to China and India.

Enjoy Burmese and Latino dancers, Kentucky clogging, Korean karate and American folk music. There is a wide variety of entertainment to enjoy.

Don’t forget to join the People’s Parade behind a Chinese dragon at noon in front of the church. For one day, the front lawn of First Presbyterian Church will turn into a paradise for all.
