hend police arrest6 300HENDERSON, Ky. (5/28/13) – Two people were injured in a two-vehicle accident in the 1700 block of S. Green St. in Henderson on Thursday, May 23. According to Henderson Police, David Spurlin, 39, Henderson, was turning left into a public parking lot at 7:35 p.m. Authorities said Spurlin didn’t see Samuel Southard, 60, Henderson, approaching before he began to turn, and the two collided. Spurlin’s vehicle then spun around and struck a utility pole, causing minor damage. Southard and a passenger in Spurlin’s vehicle, Allen Spurlin, 35, Henderson, were taken to Methodist Hospital for treatment.

Both drivers were injured in a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Meadow and Powell streets in Henderson at 2:16 p.m. on Friday, May 24. According to Henderson Police, James Wiggins, 27, and Aymer Montejo, 23, both of Henderson, were taken to Methodist Hospital for treatment after Wiggins apparently struck the driver’s side of Montejo’s vehicle.

Henderson Police are seeking information in a reported burglary incident in the 600 block of 6th Street at 2:40 p.m. on Friday, May 24. According to authorities, a witness told police that “three unknown black male juveniles between the ages of 13 and 15” apparently broke in a window and glass door to obtain entry to the residence. It’s not known who owns the residence, police said. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Henderson Police Department at 270-831-1295 or Henderson County Crimestoppers at 270-831-1111.

The Henderson Police Department is investigating a burglary which allegedly occurred on Friday, May 24, between the hours of 2:15 and 3:15 p.m. in the 100 block of Mill Street. Authorities said a man at the residence told them someone broke into his home and took more than $150 of unidentified items. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Henderson Police Department at 270-831-1295 or Henderson County Crimestoppers at 270-831-1111.

On Friday, May 25, officers responded to report of an accident with injuries at a business in the 2800 block of U.S. Hwy. 41-A. Authorities said Denise Kanipe, 54, Henderson, apparently struck a curb with her motorcycle, causing her to be knocked off the vehicle. She was taken to Methodist Hospital for treatment.

On Monday, May 27, Henderson Police responded to the 100 block of 8th Street regarding report of a burglary there. A woman at the residence told police that several pieces of jewelry and other belongings had been stolen sometime between Thursday, May 23, and Monday, May 27. The investigation is continuing.
