Henderson Police Department Promotes Three

hend promo2 300Allen SchreckerHENDERSON, Ky. (6/13/13) – On June 12, Sgt. Allen Schrecker was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant at the Henderson Police Department. Lt. Schrecker was hired in September of 2006 and has recently served as a second shift sergeant and most recently served as the acting Lieutenant of Operations.

Three officers, Jason Hargitt, Russell Stoner, and Heath Cox, were promoted to the rank of Sergeant. Sgt. Hargitt began his career in July of 2000 and spent the past nine years as the department's K-9 officer. His K-9 partner, Santo, retired earlier this spring. Sgt. Stoner began his career in April of 2001. During that time, Sgt. Stoner has served as a Hostage Negotiator, Corporal, School Resource Officer at South Middle, and acting Sergeant of second shift since September of 2012. Sgt. Cox also began his career with HPD in April of 2001. Sgt. Cox has served as a Detective and a School Resource Officer at Henderson County High School since August of 2009. All of the men began their careers as patrol officers with HPD.

The promotion ceremony was held on Wednesday, June 12. The men were joined by their families, friends, and co-workers. Their new insignias and badges were pinned on by family members.
