KSP Criminal Reports - October 21, 2013

arrest basham 300HENDERSON, Ky. (10/21/13) - Kentucky State Police Post 16 released the following arrest reports over the weekend of Oct. 18 through Oct. 19:

Kentucky State Police responded to a trespassing complaint at 8940 Kentucky 1700 in Hancock County at 4:47 p.m. Oct. 18. Owners of the property stated that Bobby Basham, Jacklyn Basham and their children were residing at the residence unlawfully. Upon troopers’ arrival, Bobby Basham fled from the residence on foot, but was later apprehended. After searching the residence, Troopers located remnants of a clandestine methamphetamine lab and other items commonly used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine. During the course of the investigation, Troopers recovered a stolen 4-wheeler and other stolen items at the property.

Bobby and Jacklyn Basham were arrested at the scene and lodged in the Breckenridge County Detention Center. Bobby Basham was charged with first degree criminal trespassing, manufacturing methamphetamine first offense, drug paraphernalia buy/possess, two counts of fourth degree controlled substance endangerment to child, second degree fleeing/evading police (on foot), and menacing. Jacklyn Basham was charged with first degree criminal trespassing, manufacturing methamphetamine first offense, drug paraphernalia buy/possess, two counts of fourth degree controlled substance endangerment to child, and possession of marijuana. The children were removed by Hancock County Social Services. Kentucky State Police was assisted at the scene by Hancock Co Sheriffs Dept., Social Services, Animal Control and the Ohio County Sheriffs Dept.

Kentucky State Police also responded to the 4000 block of Kentucky 85 near Centertown in Ohio County at 6:44 p.m. Oct. 19 after receiving a report of an injury accident. Troopers suspected the operator, Jeff Bishop, of being under the influence of alcohol. While administering the field sobriety tests, Jeff Bishop became combative and assaulted the Troopers. While attempting to take Bishop into custody, Joe Bishop, the brother of Jeff Bishop, arrived on scene and assaulted a Trooper as well. Both subjects were arrested and charged with third degree assault and resisting arrest. Jeff Bishop was also charged with second degree assault, first degree driving under the influence, third degree criminal mischief, and possession of an open alcohol container in a motor vehicle. Both subjects were transported to the Ohio County Detention Center.
