Juveniles Injured in Two Vehicle Accident at Intersection of Laffoon Trail and Bean Cemetery

accident injuries amb 300MADISONVILLE, Ky. (6/13/13) – Madisonville Police Department (MPD) officials have reported an accident that occurred this afternoon, Thursday, June 13, 2013, at approximately 4:50 PM.

According to MPD, 31-year-old Jessica Courtney, of Nortonville, was traveling southbound on Bean Cemetery Road at the same time that 41-year-old Jessie Lewis, of Manitou, was traveling eastbound on Laffoon Trail. After police officials were on the scene, Courtney advised officers that she did not see the stop sign at the intersection of Bean Cemetery and Laffoon Trail. Courtney entered the intersection without stopping, causing Lewis to strike her vehicle. Both vehicles exited the highway. Courtney spun 360 degrees, coming to a final stop facing north. Lewis also spun around, finally stopping facing westward.

Officials have stated that there were two juveniles in the collision from Courtney’s vehicle and one juvenile from Lewis’ vehicle that were transported to local hospitals for treatment.
