MADISONVILLE, Ky. (8/21/13) – On Wednesday, August 13, at around 8:50 PM, Madisonville Police Officer Paul Haynie was involved in a vehicle pursuit with a 2001 light gray Chrysler 300 operated by 26-year-old Zachary West.
The pursuit began on McCoy Avenue after Officer Haynie observed the vehicle speeding. The officer attempted to pull West over, resulting in a pursuit. A short while later, West stopped in the parking lot behind the Presbyterian Church on West McLaughlin. From there, West fled on foot and was unable to be located.
On Wednesday, August 21, West was located and arrested at a residence located at 763 Independence Drive.
West was charged with Disregarding a Stop Sign, Speeding, Reckless Driving, Wanton Endangerment X 3 Contempt of Court X2, Fleeing/Evading Police, Operating on a Suspended Operator’s License and Probation Violation.
In addition, Douglas Kolb, 59, of the aforementioned address was arrested on charges of Hindering Prosecution or Apprehension 2nd Degree. Both West and Kolb were lodged in the Hopkins County Detention Center.
