UPDATE – MPD Releases Further Information on Pedestrian Versus Vehicle Incident

ped hit updateMADISONVILLE, Ky. (10/4/13) – The Madisonville Police Department (MPD) has released the following incident regarding the vehicle versus pedestrian incident that took place on Thursday, October 3, 2013.
 
According to MPD officials, Billy Hibbs, 60, of Thompson Avenue in Madisonville was traveling southbound on North Main Street on the east side of the road approaching North Railroad Street, while Amanda Tichenor, 32, of South Madison Avenue in Madisonville was entering traffic traveling northbound from North Railroad Street.
 
Tichenor told Police officials that Hibbs made an attempt to go across traffic towards North Railroad Street. Tichenor struck Hibbs, who was operating a motorized wheelchair, with the front of her car.
 
Hibbs was transported to Baptist Health for ‘obvious’ injuries.
 
Madisonville Fire Department assisted Madisonville Police on the scene.
