Sheriff's Candidate Announces Filing for 2014 Primary

sanderson sheriff1 300HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. (11/14/13) — A Madisonville Police Department officer has officially filed for an elected position in the county.

Matt Sanderson made the announcement Thursday, Nov. 14 that he had filed his candidacy paperwork for the office of Hopkins County Sheriff earlier in the day with the Hopkins County Clerk's office.

On his website, he lists several reasons for his running for sheriff. Making the county safer for citizens was one of his points.

“I am running for Sheriff of Hopkins County because I want to make Hopkins County safer for you,” said Sanderson regarding his philosphy. “I know we, working together, can make Hopkins County safer for everyone, especially for our families and our children. My true passion is to serve and protect the citizens of Hopkins County. It's personal to me.”
