During Arrest on Warrant, Police Discover Bag of Meth

arrest catesMADISONVILLE, Ky. (12/10/13) — The Madisonville Police Department arrested a Pembroke man Dec. 9. in the parking lot of Kroger.

According to the Madisonville Police Department, Officers William Roundtree and Van Killough were patroling the Kroger parking lot and recognized the subject, who had active warrants. As the subject was getting out from his backseat from behind the driver’s side, officer Killough observed a baggie containing a white substance in the center of his seat, the report said.

He advised officers that the substance was meth, the report said.

Nicholas Cates, 28, was charged with contempt of court libel/slander resistance to order, non-payment of fines and possession of controlled substance first degree, first offense (Methamphetamine). He is being lodged in the Hopkins County Jail.
