HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. (12/16/13) — A search of a Nortonville residence has resulted in the arrest of a Nortonville mand and the confiscation of drugs, currency and counterfeit money.
Detective Troy Gibson of the Muhlenberg County Sheriff’s Department, assigned to the Pennyrile Narcotics Task Force, executed a search warrant at the home of Jerry Dwayne Wells, 59, of 126 W. Pine St., Nortonville.
During the search, officers located 263 Dilaudid pills, counterfeit money and $678 in currency.
The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Department, Madisonville Police Department and Muhlenberg County Sheriff’s Department also assisted with the arrest.
Wells was charged with trafficking in controlled substance, first degree, and first offense, prescription controlled substance not in proper container, first offense, and promoting contraband, first degree. He is currently lodged in the Hopkins County Jail.
The investigation is continuing and police expect additional charges to be filed.
