fire 1DEPOY, Ky. (1/30/14) ― Authorities are still searching for three bodies through the charred remains of a home on Doss Lane between Greenville and Graham after an early morning fire Thursday, Jan. 30 destroyed the home.

Six of the 11 people living in the home are known to have perished in the fire. Two were lifeflighted to Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville, Tenn.

According to Kentucky State Police spokesman Stu Recke, it is too early to determine the cause of the fire, but for now, foul play is not suspected.

Recke said the fire was called into Muhlenberg Central Dispatch at 2:01 a.m. by a neighbor, who saw the house ablaze.

“The first responders reported that the house was fully engulfed upon arrival,” Recke told SurfKY. “We do know that there was a family of 11 living in the residence ― two parents and nine children.”

As of 8:30 a.m., the other three residents of the home were not yet found.

Recke said more information would be forthcoming later in the day.

“We'll be gathering more information as the day goes on,” said Recke. “We will have names and ages to pass on when we do.”

Recke said no other residences in the neighborhood were affected by the fire.

SurfKY News will be on the scene and will update the story as it unfolds.
