Two Hopkins Women Charged in Auto Theft

MORTONS GAP, Ky. (3/5/14) — Two Hopkins County women have been arrested in connection with the theft of an automobile from a guest at the Days Inn motel in Mortons Gap.

According to Madisonville Police, a guest of the Days Inn motel reported that the two women had been in his room, when he went to bed. When he awoke, he discovered his vehicle was missing. He advised officers that he believed the vehicle might be at the house of one of the women's husband, the report said.

After an investigation, officers located the vehicle at that location.

Police arrested Jessica Brown, 32, of Earlington. She was charged March 4 with theft by unlawful taking/auto $10,000 or more and under $1,000,000.

Police also arrested Nicole Luce, 24, of Mortons Gap, who admitted driving the vehicle from Days Inn to the location it was discovered. Luce was also charged with theft by unlawful taking/auto $10,000 or more and under $1,000,000.

Both women are being lodged in the Hopkins County Detention Center.
