owensboro-events 01OWENSBORO, Ky. (3/24/14) – Highland Elementary School is hosting a special leadership event, “We’re All A-Buzz with Great Leaders!” 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 2.

A continental style breakfast will be served at 8 a.m., allowing participants time to mingle with business professionals and educators attending the event.

Representatives from Owensboro/Daviess County businesses and community members are invited to attend this program showcasing the talents that are developing through the use of Stephen Covey’s “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.” The “Leader in Me” spotlights kid-friendly language that benefits children both in the classroom and as members of their families and community.

“The agenda will include special presentations by student leaders, tours of the school building and classrooms and musical performances that are sure to knock your socks off. More than 550 students will participate in a grand ‘synergy’ finale you won’t want to miss,” said HES Principal Leslie Peveler.

  • Highland Elementary School is located at 2909 Highway 54.
  • Cost to attend the program is $50 and includes continental breakfast, light snack and materials.
  • DCPS staff members may attend for a special rate of $10.
  • Space is limited; registrations and payment are due by Friday, March 28.
