Cadiz Police Department Welcomes New Officer

Tyler-ThomasTyler ThomasCADIZ, Ky. (7/2/14) — The Cadiz Police Department has hired Tyler Thomas as a full-time police officer effective July 1, 2014.

Thomas, 23, graduated from the Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice Training police academy in June 2013 and has worked for the Trigg County Sheriff's Department for the past year.

"I feel like Tyler has a good grasp of the community and the people who live here, and will do a good job for us," said Chief Chad Grace.

Thomas was interviewed by the Cadiz City Council personnel committee and hired shortly after. He was sworn into office by Mayor Lyn Bailey Tuesday morning.

Thomas is a 2009 graduate of Trigg County High School, giving the department four home-grown officers who were raised here and graduated from TCHS.

Thomas replaces Randy Clark, who retired from full-time law enforcement last month after 32 years of service.
