MADISONVILLE, KY. (8/16/14) — The Madisonville Police Department will be joining with other agencies across the nation for the 'Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over' campaign, which began Wednesday and will continue through Sept. 2.
The department will be conducting sobriety checkpoints at various pre-approved locations throughout the city. The actions will be in conjunction with officers on directed patrols for other traffic safety violations. It is the goal of the department to ensure citizens of Madisonville have a safe Labor Day holiday season.
Checkpoints will be at: South Kentucky Avenue and East Jagoe, Whittington Drive and Margarita Loop, West Center Street and Madison Avenue, West Noel Avenue and Daniel Drive, Kentucky 85 and Jesse Stuart Elementary, Brown Road and James Madison Middle School, Grapevine Road and Hayes Avenue and Exit 42 Edward Breathitt Parkway.
