tractor trailer 300HICKMAN, Ky. (6/24/13) – On June 12, 2013, at approximately 1:04 PM, Kentucky State Police (KSP) Troopers responded to a report of an accident on State Route 125, within the Hickman City limits.

Once on the scene, Troopers found that Marvin Lynch, 73, of Clinton, KY, was traveling northbound in a semi when he met an oncoming vehicle, which was driving close to the center line. In an attempt to avoid a collision, Mr. Lynch steered right, causing his tires to drop off the right shoulder. Lynch attempted to steer the semi back onto the roadway, but crossed over both lanes and entered a ditch. Lynch again attempted to steer back onto the roadway, but overcorrected, causing the semi to overturn. The semi came to a final rest with the tractor in the northbound lane and the trailer blocking both lanes.

The roadway was closed for several hours due to the load of grain which was spilled into the roadway from the trailer.

CVE Officer Payton was assisted on scene by Fulton County Sheriff's Department and Parkway Regional EMS.
