Princeton Couple Arrested on Narcotics Charges in Cadiz

Drug arrest 01 300CADIZ, Ky. (8/21/13) – On Tuesday, August 20, the Cadiz Police Department arrested 34-year-old Scott A. Skinner and 22-year-old Brittany Harris Skinner, both Princeton residents, at approximately 10:06 p.m..

According to Police officials, Cadiz Police received information from the Lyon County Sheriff's Department that police had a pickup order for evaluation for Brittany Skinner, and that their vehicle was seen at the Broadbent Inn in Cadiz. Officer Roger Knight investigated and determined that both subjects were believed to be inside a room but were not answering the door for police. Because the court pickup order said Brittany Skinner could be of danger to herself or others, Cadiz Police made entry into the hotel room and located both subjects.

Officers observed in plain view drug paraphernalia, burnt pills, and needles. During a search officers found two grams of suspected packaged methamphetamine; a rock that tested positive for crack cocaine; several Oxycodone tablets, Morphine tablets, and Xanax tablets. Officers also found a small amount of marijuana and paraphernalia in a container.

Both are charged with Trafficking in Methamphetamine; Possession of Cocaine; Possession of a Controlled Substance - 1st Degree; Possession of a Controlled Substance - 2nd Degree; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia; and Possession of Marijuana. In addition, Scott Skinner was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance not in Proper Container and Obstructing Governmental Operations.

Brittany Skinner was evaluated and released back to the custody of the Cadiz Police Department.

Both were lodged in the Christian County Jail.
