mc talent2

MARHALL COUNTY, Ky. (10/28/13) Duke University’s Tip 7th grade talent search is the largest program of its kind in the nation. Since its inception in 1980, over 2 million students have participated. The 7th Grade Talent Search Identifies academically talented seventh graders based on standardized test scores achieved while attending elementary or middle school. Candidates are invited to take the ACT or the SAT college entrance exam as 7th graders. Students who score at high levels on these exams are then recognized at either the state or national level and are invited to attend summer programs for the academically gifted. Duke University also tracks these students as potential candidates for advanced studies and college scholarships. South Marshall Middle School had eleven students qualify for the Duke University Talent Search (TIP) program.

Following is a list of the qualifying students:
Benjamin Samson
Alyssa Humphrey
Alyssa Hubbard
Isaac Miller
Raelee Story
Kaleb Willie
Grace Wood
Dalton York
Weston Harper
Corrin Bedwell
Elana Woosley
