Benton Middle School Hosts 'Hunger Games' for Needy

BENTON, Ky. (11/19/13) — The Beta Club at Benton Middle School recently held its first Hunger Games to collect canned food items for Needline and Helping Hands. Each classroom community competed with each other to become the District of the Day by bringing in the highest weight of canned food items. Over a two week period, almost 3,400 pounds of canned food items were collected. This has been by far the biggest outreach project for community that BMS has completed. Everyone was focused on making sure every family had food to eat this holiday season.

Congratulations to Mr. Hayden and Mr. Lane on the victory. A special thanks to Taylen Henry and Derek Doss for their work in organizing the event.
