SPECIAL NOTES
Some congestion can be expected in the downtown area beginning at 7 a.m. Saturday, August 17, for the Lexington Farmer’s Market at Fifth-Third Pavilion at Cheapside Park.
 
Some congestion can be expected in the downtown area beginning at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, August 22, for Central Bank Thursday Night Live at the Fifth-Third Pavilion at Cheapside Park.
 
Short Street will be closed between Saunier Alley and Broadway from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, August 17, for the Lexington Children’s Theatre 75th Block Party Birthday Bash.
 
The inside lane of Kentucky Avenue running south to north along Woodland Park will be closed on Saturday, August 17, and Sunday, August 18, for the American Founders Bank Woodland Art Fair at Woodland Park.
 
The 800 block of Euclid Avenue will be closed from 2-10:30 p.m. Saturday, August 24, for the Chevy Chase Street Fair.   
 
The Division of Engineering issued grading permits during the period August 9-15, for the following addresses: 425 Chilesburg Road, 1956 General Warfield Way, 528 Hawks Nest Point, 3364 Lawson Lane, 3750 Hardwood Road, 267 Rosemont Garden, 376 Nelson Avenue, 3009 Falling Leaves Lane, 1812 Versailles Road, 2373 Patchen Wilkes Drive, 4508 Windstar Way, 4524 Windstar Way, 4512 Windstar Way, 496 Weston Park, and 1787 Sandhurst Cove. Permits are issued for six months and can include some blasting.
 
SIGNIFICANT TRAFFIC IMPACT
DeRoode Street will be CLOSED between Versailles Road and McKinley Street 24 hours a day through December 31, for work on the Newtown Pike extension project. Motorists can access the neighborhood from Merino Street to McKinley Street to Byars Alley.
 
Grimes Mill Road will be CLOSED at McCalls Mill Road on the Clark County line 24 hours a day through Tuesday, December 31, for demolition and construction of a new bridge.
 
The left outbound lane of Harrodsburg Road will be blocked at Overlake Boulevard on Monday, August 19, for utility work.
 
The right inbound lane of Nicholasville Road will be blocked between Tahoma Road and Johnston Road through Wednesday, August 21, for utility work.
 
The northbound lane of South Ashland Avenue will be blocked between Sunset Drive and Ashland Terrace from Wednesday, August 21, through Friday, August 30, for utility work.
 
One lane of St. Margaret Drive will be blocked at St. Michael Drive, at St. Christopher Drive and at St. Teresa Drive through Friday, August 30, for utility work.
 
The southbound lane of Woodland Avenue will be closed 24 hours a day between Columbia Avenue and Rose Lane and traffic will be detoured through Monday, August 27, for sewer work at the University of Kentucky.
 
MODERATE TRAFFIC IMPACT
There will be a rolling lane closure of Eastin Road between Bryan Avenue and
Old Paris Road from Monday, August 19, through Wednesday, August 21, to raise manholes.
 
One lane of Euclid Avenue will be blocked at Park Avenue from Monday, August 19, through Friday, August 23, for utility work.
 
The right lane of Lexington Avenue will be blocked between East Maxwell Street and Euclid Avenue through Friday, August 30, for utility work.
 
Lexington Green Circle, the access drive to Lexington Green, will be CLOSED at Nicholasville Road for 24 hours on Sunday, August 19, for repairs.
 
A portion of Oldham Avenue will be blocked between Euclid Avenue and East High Street through Friday, August 30, for utility work.
 
One lane of Old Nicholasville Road will be blocked between Cobblestone Road and Nicholasville Road through Saturday, August 17, for guardrail replacement.
 
The right southbound lane of Polo Club Boulevard will be blocked between Fitzgerald Court and Man O’ War Boulevard from Monday, August 19, through Friday, August 23, for construction work.
 
One lane of Rose Lane will be blocked at Transylvania Park from Monday, August 19, through Friday, August 23, for utility work.
 
A portion of the intersection of South Ashland Avenue and Ashland Terrace will be blocked on Monday, August 19, and Tuesday, August 20, for utility work.
 
One lane at a time of South Limestone Street will be blocked at Virginia Avenue through Sunday, August 18, for work on the overhead pedestrian crossing.
 
South Martin Luther King Boulevard will be CLOSED between East Main Street and East High Street for several hours on Saturday, August 17, for crane work.
 
Water Street will be CLOSED to through traffic between Quality Street and Ayres Alley on Saturday, August 24, for crane work.
 
A portion of West Short Street will be blocked near 367 West Short Street in the off-street area next to the curb 24 hours a day through Friday, August 23, for construction work.
