The Dailey Dose: ‘Blooming Rose’ Photography Blossoms Memories

photog 300LEXINGTON, Ky. (10/3/13)—When people take pictures they often imagine what they would like to look back on in a few years. Pictures are memories being made and moments being captured and for Autumn Horton, capturing those memories is a passion.

“You can make dreams come true just by capturing a specific moment in someone’s life,” Horton said. “ Creativity. Imagination. Life. Memories. Beauty. Love. Taste. That's exactly what I am all about. There are no limits to what I see through the lens of my camera.”

Horton grew up in Sandy Hook, Ky. and remembers the exact moment she got her first camera. At 12 years old she laughed about how she would take pictures of her cats and try to find an artistic way of capturing everything.

“When I was taking pictures on my first camera, I remember taking artistic pictures,” she said. “Not the normal every day pictures you would normally see captured by a 12 year old. My pictures were a little more interesting than the average snap shot.”

In 2009 Horton upgraded to a new camera and her love for photography took off from there. Shooting everything from self-portraits to engagement pictures to graduation pictures, Horton’s favorite place to capture these special moments is outdoors.

“I’m not much for studio work, it’s kind of boring” she said. “I just love capturing special moments for people that they can always look back on. Years down the road, without photography, people would never know how they were feeling the day that they got engaged, married, graduated…pictures do speak a thousand words.”

Not only does Horton have an artistic eye, but her passion shines through the pictures that she takes. Being the only person in her family to take an artistic route, Horton inspired herself, and since then has captures memories that will last a lifetime.

“To me being passionate about something that I enjoy doing is an important thing,” she said.
