Weekly Traffic Report

SPECIAL NOTES
Traffic is expected to be congested on Wednesday, Jan. 8, near Rupp Arena for the University of Kentucky vs. Mississippi State basketball game, which begins at 8 p.m. Motorists not attending the game should avoid the area if possible. For ideas on using alternate modes of transportation to get around downtown or where to park during periods of expected congestion, log on to www.moveitpeople.com.
 
Traffic is expected to be congested on Saturday, Jan. 18, near Rupp Arena for the University of Kentucky vs. University of Tennessee basketball game, which begins at noon. Motorists not attending the game should avoid the area if possible.
 
The Division of Engineering issued the following grading permits during the period Dec. 26-Jan. 2: Two grading permits for Athens-Boonesboro Road and one for 3077 Bobwhite Trail. Permits are issued for six months and can include some blasting.
 
MAJOR TRAFFIC IMPACT
Inbound and outbound Clays Mill Road will be restricted to one lane in each direction between Higbee Mill Road and Twain Ridge Road through Jan. 10, as part of the Clays Mill Road widening project.
 
SIGNIFICANT TRAFFIC IMPACT
The sidewalk and left turn lane of South Limestone Street will be blocked at West Main Street through Friday, March 7, for the CentrePointe project.
 
MODERATE TRAFFIC IMPACT
LexTran parking spots on East Main Street will be blocked by a dumpster 24 hours a day through Tuesday, Jan. 7, while work is ongoing on the East Main side of the former DeSha’s Restaurant.
 
Locust Avenue will be CLOSED between Bryan Avenue and Oak Hill Drive with local access maintained through Friday, May 2, for a street and sewer project.
 
The right turn lane of North Limestone Street is blocked in front of the courthouses through Thursday, Jan. 9, for construction work
 
One lane at a time of Vendor Way will be blocked between Pink Pigeon Parkway and Flying Ebony Drive through Friday, Jan. 10, for utility work.
 
The right lane and the parking lane of West High Street are blocked between South Mill Street and Broadway through Saturday, Jan. 4, for construction work.
 
The left turn lane of West Vine Street will be blocked at South Limestone Street through Friday, March 7, for the CentrePointe project.
