Accident on College Avenue Sends Five To Hospital

accidentwinjuries2 300PADUCAH, Ky. (6/10/13) – On June 8, 2013 at 2:15 PM, Deputies with the McCracken County Sheriff’s Department responded to the 400 block of College Avenue for a two-vehicle injury accident.
 
Upon arrival, Deputies found that Austin T. Thompson, 18, of Benton KY, was operating his 1990 Chevrolet Camaro eastbound on College Avenue. As Thompson approached a curve in the roadway in the 400 block of College Ave., he failed to negotiate the curve and drifted into the path of Martin L. Cook, 33, of Paducah. Cook was operating a 2003 Mitsubishi Galant westbound on College Ave. Thompson and Cook collided in the roadway.
 
Both Thompson and Cook were transported to local hospitals as well as all of Thompson’s passengers, two 17-year-olds, and 18 year old Alexis Parra of Paducah KY, all for apparent non-life threatening injuries.
 
Deputy Sheriff (K-9) Steve Croft was the lead investigator at the scene
 
Deputies were assisted at the scene by the Lone Oak Fire Department and Mercy Regional Ambulance Service.
