pad park serv 300PADUCAH, Ky. (6/17/13) – Paducah Parks Services will host the Paducah Summer Games this Saturday, June 22. Events this year are a disc golf tournament and the cross river swim. Each event has a registration fee of $10. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged for all of the events by calling the Parks office at 444-8508. The first 150 participants will receive a Paducah Summer Games t-shirt.

The annual Cross River Swim will be held at the Paducah riverfront at the foot of Broadway. Swimmers are asked to arrive at 9:30 a.m. for final instructions with the swim beginning at 10 a.m. Swimmers will start on the Illinois side of the Ohio River and attempt to swim to the foot of Broadway in Paducah. If they have not previously competed in the Cross River Swim, each swimmer must provide documentation from a pool manager that they can swim 500 meters. Each swimmer must have a manned boat to accompany them on the swim.

The disc golf tournament will be held at Stuart Nelson Park. On-site registration will begin at 12:30 p.m. at the shelter near the tee to hole #1. This will be a two round event. Round one will begin at 1:30 p.m. with a shotgun start with round two following the start of round one. Participants will compete in one of two divisions for prizes.
