Single-Vehicle Collision Sends Teen to Hospital

accidentwinjuries2 300PADUCAH, Ky. (6/18/13) – At approximately 2:40 PM on Monday, June 17, 2013, local first responders were dispatched to the scene of an accident on US Highway 45.

Once on the scene, McCracken County Sheriff’s Deputies found that a red 2002 Chevy Trailblazer, driven by 18-year-old Michael Mix of Mayfield, was off the road about a mile south of Lone Oak.

Mix apparently lost control of the vehicle while traveling southbound on US 45, colliding with an earth embankment and overturning several times before coming to final rest on its’ wheels.

Mix was transported to Baptist ER for non-life threatening injuries.

Officers deduced that localized heavy rain and water collecting on the roadway were contributing factors in the accident.

The right lane of US 45 was partially blocked for approximately 30 minutes.
