Single Vehicle Injury Collision on HWY 62

Accident Injury 01 300PADUCAH, Ky. (7/8/13) – At 7:17 PM on Saturday, July 6, the McCracken County Sheriff’s Department responded to a single vehicle injury collision, on HWY 62, just west of the Information Age Park, in West Paducah. The initial call stated that there was someone entrapped in the vehicle.

The investigation showed that a 2002 Ford Taurus operated by Sawyer R. Rambo, 18, of Cunningham was westbound on HWY 62 and, due to the wet roadway surface, lost control of his vehicle. The vehicle crossed the eastbound lane and then rolled down an earth embankment and landed on its roof in the ditch.

Rescue personnel gave Mr. Rambo a knife to cut his seat belt, as it was keeping him trapped inside the vehicle. Mr. Rambo was able to exit out the rear window.

Rambo had what appeared to be minor injuries and was transported to an area hospital as a safety precaution.

HWY 62 was blocked for approximately 45 minutes while Randy’s Towing could remove the vehicle from the ditch.

The Sheriff’s Department was assisted on the scene by Concord Fire Dept. and Mercy Ambulance Service.
