Man Injured after Hitting Deer with Motorcycle

motorcycle accident yellow 300PADUCAH, Ky. (9/5/13) – On September 5, 2013, at approximately 1:17 a.m., McCracken County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to a report of an accident with potential injuries on Olivet Church Road at the intersection of Stanley Cemetery Road.
 
Upon arrival on the scene, Deputies found that 47-year-old Robert Kitchen was traveling southbound on Olivet Church Road on a 2007 Harley Davidson Motorcycle when a deer entered the roadway. Kitchen’s bike struck the deer, causing the motorcycle to lay down on the roadway.
 
Kitchen was transported to a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
 
Deputies were assisted on scene by Mercy EMS, Concord Fire, and Jason’s Collision. Olivet Church was partially shut down for 45 minutes to allow for investigation and clean up.
 
Dep. Zane White is the primary investigating deputy.
