(9/18/13) – The Lily Pad at Easter Seals West Kentucky, the region’s first Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care (PPEC) facility, celebrated its Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on September 16th, 2013. Ms. Mary Andrus, Vice President of Government Affairs, Easter Seals Washington, D.C. was able to join us for our very special day. We were honored to have her with us.
 
The Lily Pad is scheduled to open October 1, 2013. Open house for the Child Development Center/The Lily Pad will be held September 19th & 20th from 5-7PM, located at 801 N. 29th Street, Paducah, KY. Staff will be on hand to answer any questions regarding the Center. Easter Seals West Kentucky Child Development Center/The Lily Pad are now enrolling.
 
Referrals for The Lily Pad must be obtained from the child’s primary care physician. Referral forms and a program description may be downloaded from Easter Seals West Kentucky’s web-site: www.eswky.easterseals.com. Completed forms must be mailed or hand delivered to: Easter Seals West Kentucky Child Development Center, Attn: Jessie Meiser, R.N., B.S.N, CPEN, Director of Nursing, 801 N. 29th Street, Paducah, KY 42001.
 
The Lily Pad at Easter Seals West Kentucky is a program designed to provide quality medical, therapeutic, developmental and childcare services for children with complex medical conditions that often keep them out of typical childcare programs. The center will be staffed with RN’s, CNA’s and childcare specialists at a ratio of 3:1. Prominent Paducah area pediatrician, Dr. John Cecil, serves as the Lily Pad’s Medical Director and Jessie Meiser, R.N., B.S.N., CPEN, is the Director of Nursing. The center will serve up to 48 children primarily birth-12 years of age.
