PADUCAH, Ky. (9/24/13) – On September 23, 2013 at approximately 3:50 p.m., Deputies with the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 3100 block of Hovekamp Road for reported accident with injuries.
On arrival, deputies located a 2008 Chevy Impala on its passenger side in the front yard of 3112 Hovekamp Road.
Investigation showed that a 17 year-old teen of Paducah, KY was operating the Impala when she had tire failure causing her to run off of the roadway. The teen stated her front passenger tire blew causing her to leave the roadway into a ditch on the eastbound side of the roadway. The driver then overcorrected and crossed the roadway striking a mailbox and earth embankment on the west bound side of the road, striking the earth embankment and causing the vehicle to overturn and land on its passenger side. The teen had her daughter in the vehicle, an 11-month old infant, who was strapped into a child seat.
Both occupants were transported to Western Baptist for non-life threatening injuries by Mercy EMS.
Reidland Farley Fire Department and BA’s Towing assisted at the scene.
