wku red redBOWLING GREEN, Ky. (11/12/13) – The Western Kentucky University Symphonic Band and the Symphony at WKU will present a concert Nov. 25 in Paducah.

The public is invited for the special performance that will begin at 7 p.m. at McCracken County High School. Admission is free.

The concert will feature two WKU Department of Music faculty members -- Dr. Marshall Scott, trumpet, on Kent Kennan’s Sonata for Trumpet and Wind Ensemble, and Natalie Adcock, horn, on James Beckel’s The Glass Bead Game.

The WKU Symphony, conducted by Dr. Bill Scott, and Symphonic Band, conducted by Dr. Gary Schallert, are comprised of the finest instrumental music students across the WKU campus. While most of the students in these two ensembles are music majors, there are a number of students that are pursuing degrees in other areas of study.

WKU music students from Paducah include Clay Watkins, violin; Erin Burba, double bass; Christopher Kight, tuba; Clay Burgess, double bass; Shelly Burgess, cello; and Josh Bloecher, viola.
