8-14drugarrest. blank01MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky. (8/15/14) — Detectives with the McCracken County Sheriff’s Department arrested two Kevil men early Thursday morning after a search warrant was executed at their home.

On Aug. 14 at approximately 6 a.m., deputies with McCracken and Marshall County Sheriff’s Departments executed a search warrant at 11710 Woodville Road in Kevil area of McCracken County. Upon entry to the residence deputies encountered three pitbull dogs. One of the dogs lunged at a deputy in attempt to bite him and was shot. Detectives located four adults, two men and two women and one child inside the residence.

Animal control arrived and took a total of five five pitbull dogs from the property before deputies could safely search the residence.

During a search of the residence and the property detectives located and seized quantities of Marijuana, Scales, drug packaging materials, a loaded pistol grip shotgun, ammunition and more than $10,000 in US currency that is believed to be proceeds of illegal drug sales.

Detectives arrested both Corey Leonard and Caleb Scronce charging them with the illegal items located in the home and on the property. Both were lodged in the McCracken County Regional Jail. The child was released to a family member.

The investigation revealed that Corey Leonard and Caleb Sconce both lived at the residence and had been involved in the sale of Marijuana for the past approximate 2-3 months.

Corey J. Leonard, 21, of Woodville Road, was charged with firearm enhanced second offense trafficking in Marijuana 8oz-5lbs, possession of firearm by a convicted felon, possession of Marijuana, drug paraphernalia and harboring a vicious animal.

Caleb J. Scronce, 23, of Woodville Road, was charged with firearm enhanced second offense trafficking in Marijuana 8oz-5lbs, possession of firearm by a convicted felon, possession of Marijuana, drug paraphernalia and harboring a vicious animal

Both Leonard and Scronce are convicted felons and have prior drug trafficking convictions making it illegal for them to possess a firearm or ammunition. Scronce was on felony parole at the time of his arrest.
