WARREN COUNTY, Ky. (1/17/14) — Sheriff Jerry “Peanuts” Gaines, of the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, would like to alert all citizens of Warren and Barren Counties that over the last few months there has been a rise in vehicle theft.
Recently there has been a series of stolen vehicles in the Northeast Warren County and Southwest Barren County. In all cases, the perpetrator(s) has been targeting vehicles left abandoned with keys in the ignitions. Most of the cases have also involved four-wheel drives, according to the report.
Gaines would like citizens to be more diligent and to always lock vehicles and to never leave the keys in the ignition, even for a short period of time.
Many of these cases are still under investigation.
For any additional information about any vehicle theft cases contact the Warren County Sheriff’s Office at (270) 842-1633.
