GREENVILLE, Ky. (6/19/13) – On Tuesday, June 18, at 3:37 PM, local first responders were dispatched to the scene of a one-vehicle accident at the intersection of KY 1380 and Paradise Road in Greenville, behind the airport.
Once on the scene, officials found that 25-year-old Jessica Hocker and 28-year-old Chris Warner were traveling eastbound on KY 1380 when Hocker’s 1999 Chevy Cavalier exited the highway. The vehicle rolled over, resulting in both Hocker and Warner being ejected.
Hocker was life-flighted to Vanderbilt for severe injuries.
At the time of the initial first response to the accident, officials were not aware that Warner was actually in the vehicle, the result being that he wasn’t found at first. According to Sheriff Curtis McGehee, officers searched the area, but Warner was not located. Several hours later, a relative of Warner contacted Central Dispatch with concern that he may have been in the accident. Emergency crews went back to the scene and located Warner’s body approximately 85 feet from where the vehicle was found, on the opposite side of the road in grass approximately as tall as the officials on the scene.
This incident is currently being investigated by Muhlenberg County Sheriff Deputy B.W. DeArmond and the Muhlenberg County Coroner’s Office.
Deputy DeArmond was assisted by SGT Terry Vick, Powderly Police Dept., Greenville Police Dept., Greenville Fire Dept., Muhlenberg County Ambulance, Muhlenberg County Central Dispatch, and PHI.
