George Linton, Jr., 81, of White House, TN and formerly of Hopkinsville

HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. - George Linton, Jr., 81, of White House, TN and formerly of Hopkinsville passed away at 12:37 a.m. Saturday, May 18, 2013 at his residence following a brief illness.

A native of Middleton, Ohio he was born June 10, 1931 the son of the late George Linton, Sr. and Bessi Duncil Linton. He was retired United States Army where he served in both Korea and Vietnam. Following his retirement he worked as a car salesman for Bob Williams and Gary Matthews, Hampton Meats, and Western State Hospital. Survivors include his wife: Florence Linton; his sons: George Linton III (Jo) of Guntersville, AL and John Lawrence Linton of Madison, TN; his daughters: Sandra Durham (Richard) of Crofton, KY, Carol Hardy (Robert) of Tallahassee, FL, and Susie Arnold of White House, TN; his brothers: Donnie Linton of Tuscan, AZ and Kenny Linton (Lisa) of Middleton, OH; his sister: Judy Linton of Chanhassen, MN; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.

Services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at Hughart & Beard Funeral Home in Hopkinsville with George Linton III officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in KY Veterans Cemetery West. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Hughart & Beard Funeral Home in Hopkinsville is in charge of the arrangements.
