Kathleen Yancey Deal, 94

flowerHOPKINSVILLE, Ky. - Kathleen Yancey Deal, 94, passed away June 3, 2013 at 8:00 a.m. following a brief illness.

She was born June 14, 1918, in Todd County, Ky, grew up in Fairview, Ky, and lived the majority of her life in Hopkinsville, Ky. She was the daughter of Frank and Gertrude Yancey of Fairview. She was a graduate of East High School in Nashville, TN. She was a member of Second Baptist Church, Hopkinsville, KY, where her husband David Deal, was a deacon for many years and was also co-owner of Deal & Moorefield Welding and Ornamental Iron. She was preceded in death by her husband David in 2001 and son, Larry, in 2011. Kathleen was a pianist for the senior adult class and taught 8 and 9 year olds in Sunday School.

Survivors include a daughter, Norma (Sherwin) Clift of Clarksville, TN; a daughter-in-law, Ramona Deal, of Brentwood, TN; and four grandchildren, Lamar (Regina) Clift of Clarksville, TN; Natalie (Scott) Roemer of Acworth, GA; Jacqualine and Brenton Deal of Brentwood, TN. She also had two great-grandchildren, Bentley Clift and Tristan Roemer.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 5, 2013, at Hughart & Beard Funeral Home, 2504 S. Virgina Street, Hopkinsville, KY, with Bro. Bradley Cornelius officiating.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 4, 2013, at Hughart & Beard Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the Alec Tharpe Scholarship Fund or the Organ Fund at Second Baptist Church, 720 7th Street, Hopkinsville, KY 42240.
