HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. - Terry Manion Rogers, 72, of Hopkinsville, KY passed away at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at University of KY Hospital following a long illness. Services will be 12:00 p.m. Monday, September 16, 2013 at First United Methodist Church in Hopkinsville with the Rev. Paige S. Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour Monday at First United Methodist Church. Hughart & Beard Funeral Home in Hopkinsville is in charge of the arrangements. A native of Hopkinsville, KY he was born December 6, 1940 the son of the late Woodfin Ernest Rogers, Jr. and Frances Margaret Tate Rogers. While in High School he served a summer internship as a page for the United States Congress. He was the City Clerk for the City of Hopkinsville during Al C. Rutland’s terms as mayor. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Elks.
He was preceded in death by his brother, John Tate Rogers. Survivors include his son: Terry Manion Rogers, Jr. (Heather) of Singer Island, FL; his daughter: Meredith Lillian Downey (Jim) of Louisville, KY; his brother: W. E. 'Petey' Rogers III of Cadiz, KY; his sister: Edith LaMotte Rogers Berner (Rolf) of New Castle, PA; and his four grandchildren: Brittany Rogers, Alexandria Rogers, Tate Downey, and Ella Rose Downey; and his special friend Margaret Crick of San Antonio, TX.
