OWENSBORO, Ky. - Martin Bernard Beyke, 87, of Owensboro, KY passed away Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born February 16, 1926 in Daviess County, KY to the late Thomas and Hattie Beyke. He retired after 20 years of employment with Ohio Valley Communications where he was a manager and an electronic technician and had been employed for 20 years with Wilson Brothers Communications. He was a member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He served two years in the Army Signal Corp and was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving on the USS Stack (DD406) as a radio and radar technician. He was preceded in death by his brother, Tommy Beyke and sisters, Cecelia Ebelhar, Jeanette Rummage, Juanita Vowels and Carol Hodskins.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Patricia A. Beyke; five sons, Steven B. Beyke(Teresa) of Clarksville, TN, Brice Beyke (Martie) of Raleigh, NC, Scott Beyke (Martha) of Owensboro, Jeff Beyke (Julie) of Crestwood, KY and Randy Beyke (Fran) of Atlanta, GA; two daughters, Linda Lange of Louisville, KY and Debbie Trobaugh (Barry) of Drummonds, TN; 16 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; a sister, Mary Etta Schrecker of Rome, KY and many nieces and nephews.
Services are 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 7, 2013, at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church. Burial is in St. Raphael Cemetery in Daviess County, KY. Visitation is from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday and from 9:00-10:00 a.m. on Saturday at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro, where the Rosary will be said at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
