Anna L. Adams, 76, of Owensboro, KY

OWENSBORO, Ky. - Anna L. Adams, 76, of Owensboro, KY passed away Saturday, September 7, 2013 at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation Hillcrest. She was born in Daviess County on September 18, 1936 to the late Martin Purcell and Odessa Winkler Purcell. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, James Robert Griffin in 1979 and her second husband, Lewis J. Adams in 2003.

Survivors include her friend and companion, Lewis Massie of Owensboro; two sons, James Robert Griffin, Jr. and his wife, Debbie, of Owensboro and Gary Wayne Griffin and his wife, Cheryl of South Carolina; four daughters, Linda Kay Merritt of Owensboro, Dee Rish and her husband, Doug of Owensboro, Kimberly Heep of Owensboro and Cheryl Ree Hall and her husband, Bobby, of Owensboro; eleven grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 10:00a.m. on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at the Chapel of James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro. Burial will follow in the Providence United Methodist Church Cemetery in Philpot. Visitation will be on Monday from 5:00p.m. until 8:00p.m.and on Tuesday from 9:00a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
