W.C. Underwood 88, of Calhoun, Ky

OWENSBORO, Ky. - W.C. Underwood 88, of Calhoun, Ky passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at Redbanks Colonial Terrace in Sebree. W.C. Underwood was born August 24, 1925 in Livia, Kentucky to the late Bernice and Sallie Ann Troutman Underwood and was married to the former Gilla Frances Eubank on April 20, 1945. W.C. was a farmer, a member of Buck Creek Baptist Church, a U.S. Marine Veteran of World War II, and a member of Utica Lodge # 742 F. & A.M. He loved steam engines, enjoyed farming, gardening, and spending time with both his family and friends, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, W.C. was preceded in death by a son, Wilson C. Underwood and a sister, Grace Gregory.

Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Gilla Underwood; two sons, Robin Underwood of Beech Grove and Mark Underwood of Utica; a daughter, Margaret Underwood of Calhoun; 8 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; a brother, Garnett Underwood of Calhoun; and two sisters, Mary Virginia Boyken of Alabama and Alma Tomes of Owensboro.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday at Muster Funeral Homes, Livermore Chapel with the Rev. Tommy Webb officiating. Burial will be in the Buck Creek Baptist Cemetery in McLean County. Friends may visit with W.C.'s family from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Thursday and from 11:00 A.M. until time of services Friday at Musters in Livermore. Masonic services for W.C. Underwood will be held at 7:00 P.M. Thursday at Musters in Livermore.

The W.C. Underwood family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Buck Creek Baptist Cemetery Fund; C/O Bill Miller; 1195 Barrett Hill Road; Livermore, Kentucky 42352. Memorial contribution envelopes will be available at Musters in Calhoun.
