OWENSBORO, Ky. - Corbett Lee Chapman, 86, of Owensboro, Ky passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2013, at his home. He was born May 18, 1927 in Ohio County, Kentucky to the late Schultz and Lula Smith Chapman. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in Germany during World War II. He operated Chapman's Welding Service at Stanley, Kentucky for 25 years, retired from Medley Distilling Co. and worked as a security guard for Owensboro Riverport Authority. He was a Christian and a member of Wesleyan Heights Methodist Church. He was a past member of Grand Masonic Lodge #130 and VFW Post 696.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Donnie Jean, and a sister, Ruby Glendean Chapman Barnett.
He is survived by his daughter, Dorotha Gail Camp and her husband, David of Owensboro; grandchildren Ashley Bradshaw and her husband, Todd and Jeremy Camp and his wife, Sara all of Owensboro; great grandchildren, Shelby Stewart, Kelsey Camp, Samantha Bradshaw, Isabella Camp, Marley Camp and Sophia Sunshine Camp all of Owensboro; and brothers-in-law, Bobby Barnett of Pleasant Ridge, KY and Damon Park and his wife, Janice of Owensboro.
Services are 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2013, at the Chapel of James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro. Burial with military honors is in Mount Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery in Ohio County, Kentucky. Visitation is from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
