OWENSBORO, Ky. - William Delbert Jones, 84, of Owensboro, Ky passed away Sunday, October 27, 2013, at his home. He was born on June 16, 1929 in Livermore, KY to the late Samuel Robert and Eva Marie Jones. He was a machinist. He was a member of Settle Memorial United Methodist Church, Southtown Kiwanis and was a 3rd Degree Mason and Ky Colonel. He served in the Army National Guard. He was preceded in death by a brother, Dallas Jones and a nephew, Bobby Green.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Greg Gibson of Owensboro; his son and daughter-in-law, Lynn and April Jones of Owensboro; five grandchildren, Jared Gibson of Owensboro, Jennifer Quillen and husband, Michael of Bowling Green, Cody Hayes of Evansville and Julie Hayes and Joe McIntosh both of Owensboro; three great grandchildren, Rilee, Greyson and Adalynn; a sister and brother-in-law, Wanda and John Green of Rumsey, KY; a sister-in-law, Geraldine Jones of Ohio; several nieces and nephews; and his McDonald's coffee buddies.
Services are 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 30, 2013, at the Chapel of James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro. Burial is in Elmwood Cemetery in Owensboro. Visitation is from 3:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday and after 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
