Edwin B. 'Bud' Christian, 88

OWENSBORO, Ky. - Edwin B. 'Bud' Christian, 88, went to be with his Heavenly Father on October 27, 2013. He was born to the late Edwin and Ruby Christian on August 21, 1925 in Daviess County. He was preceded in death by a son, Glenn Christian; a brother, Robert Christian; and a stepson, Mike Wedding. He retired from Detrex as a designer engineer in 1986. He belonged to Trinity United Methodist Church. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a Ky Colonel. He was noted for making his famous gravy for the men's breakfast. His favorite thing of all was spending time with his grandson, David McDaniel, teaching him all about history.

Surviving are his wife of 28 years, Mary L. Christian; a son, Kelly Christian; daughter and her husband, Alicia and Greg Sweeney; stepson and his wife, Robert and Kathey Wedding; stepdaughter and her husband, Mary and Tony McDaniel; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

Memorial services are 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 30, 2013, at the Chapel of James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro. Burial is in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation is from 12:00-2:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Tribute Program, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
