Harold K. 'Pop' Cox, 75, of Owensboro, Ky

OWENSBORO, Ky. - Harold K. 'Pop' Cox, 75, of Owensboro, Ky passed away on Monday, February 3, 2014 at Twin Rivers Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born on January 17, 1939 in Green Co., Ky to the late Thomas and Ada Lee Chaney Cox. He was retired from the Ashland-Marathon Oil Co. as a gauger and was a U. S. Navy veteran. Harold had attended the former Crabtree Ave. Baptist Church and was an avid U. K. sports fan and a geography and history buff. He enjoyed going to Nascar races, watching old Western movies and especially loved doing things for his seven grandchildren. Harold was a very charitable person, giving to different things and was a cigar officianado. He was the last living child of nine in his family.

Surviving are his former wife, Candace Wright Cox Witte of Covington, three sons, Shane Cox and wife Dayna, Harold L. Cox and wife Carrie, and Micah Cox and wife Kimberly, all of Owensboro, and seven grandchildren, Alex Cox and wife Andrea of Mt. Hood, Oregon, Elizabeth Cox of Montana, Nathan, Whitney, Nathaniel, Nicholas, and Noah Cox, all of Owensboro.

Services will be 6:30 P.M. Thursday, February 6, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Father Tony Jones officiating. Visitation will begin at 4:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
