Georgia B. Howell, 91, of Owensboro, Ky

OWENSBORO, Ky. - Georgia B. Howell, 91, of Owensboro, Ky passed away Saturday, February 1, 2014, at Kindred Transitional Care-Hillcrest. She was born June 20, 1922 in Daviess County, Ky to the late Walter and Lottie Bell. Following high school Georgia attended and graduated from business college. She was employed at General Electric (Ken-Rad), where she met her husband. She later worked as a secretary for Murphy Chair Company, and as a secretary for Colonial Bakery for 25 years. She was a member of Buena Vista Baptist Church for 60 years, where she was an assistant secretary for many years, served 27 years as secretary of stewardship, and was a bible school teacher and Sunday school teacher . She and her husband were world travelers; visiting the Holy Land three times, and visiting Italy, Rome, the Scandinavian countries and Canada. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Randle Howell in 2008.

Survivors include her brother, Thomas B. Bell (Marguerite) of Owensboro, a niece, Carol Wright of Owensboro; a nephew, Albert Bell (Lisa) of Tennessee; two great nieces and two great nephews.

Services are 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 6, 2014, at the Chapel of James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro. Burial is in Rosehill Cemetery in Owensboro. Visitation is from 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Western Ky, 3419 Wathens Crossing, Owensboro, Ky 42301.
