Mattie Lou Huff, 91, of Owensboro, Ky

OWENSBORO, Ky. - Mattie Lou Huff, 91, of Owensboro, Ky passed away Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2014. She was born June 8, 1922 in Ohio County to the late Arthur and Bertha Neighbors Stone. She retired from the Ky Board of Education and volunteered at the Pitino Shelter. She was a previous member of Huff Creek Baptist Church and attended Community Baptist Church.

Aside from her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Norman Huff (1984) and a sister, Helen Askins.

Surviving is a son, Robert (Linda) Huff and a daughter, Shreda Latham both of Owensboro; four grandchildren, Danny and Duane Kirkendoll, Dinah Dohoney and Eric Huff; seven great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and one sister, Martine Darlington of Hammond, IN.

Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Haley-McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Home with Rev. Tory Hunter officiating and burial to follow in Fordsville Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at Haley-McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Home and from 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Hospice of Western Ky., 3419 Wathens Crossing, Owensboro, Ky 42303.
