Dorothy Vanover Cain, 90, of Owensboro, Ky

OWENSBORO, Ky. - Dorothy Vanover Cain, 90, of Owensboro, Ky passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born December 12, 1923 in Daviess County, Ky to the late Ellis and Inez Vanover. She retired as a secretary for Lyons Brothers Wholesaler and was a member of Newman Baptist Church where she served as treasurer and was a Sunday school teacher. She was preceded in death by her husband, George A. Cain on September 8, 2002; a daughter, Lawanna Cain Jones; a son, Dwight Cain; two sisters, Wynona Favel and Freda Williams; and a brother, Darrel Vanover.

She is survived by two sons, Kirby Cain (Gwen) and Randy Cain both of Owensboro; four grandchildren, Kevin Jones (Kathy) of Independence, Ky, Rhonda Jones of Charlotte, NC, Lynn Bosley (Jeremi) of Niceville, FL and Sheridan Cain of Owensboro; four great grandchildren, Kyle Jones, Paige Jones, Trey Bosley and Haley Bosley.

Services are 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2014, at Newman Baptist Church. Burial is in Scherer Cemetery in Stanley, Ky. Visitation is from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro and from 9:00-10:00 a.m. on Saturday at Newman Baptist Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Newman Baptist Church, 10101 Hwy. 60 W., Owensboro, Ky 42301.
