Louis F. Strobel, 86, of Owensboro

OWENSBORO, Ky. – Louis F. Strobel, 86, of Owensboro, passed away on Tuesday June 24, 2014 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born on December 8, 1927 in Daviess County to the late Robert F. and Katherine Stockton Strobel. Louis was the Owner-Operator of Strobel’s Trading Post in Masonville.

Louis enjoyed collecting coins, antiques, and collectables. He was one of the originators of the Owensboro Gun and Knife Show that is held at the Sports center.

Louis was preceded in death by his brother John Stockton, and a grandchild Misty Dawn English on March 3, 2010.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years Juanita Anderson Strobel; two daughters, Debra Jean Woodward and Stephanie Kay (Richard) English both of Owensboro; a son, Robert Louis Strobel of Owensboro; a sister, Mary Reynolds of Madisonville; seven grandchildren, Chris Stone, Jennifer Stone, Brad Stone, Jeremy English, Jason English, Barrett Strobel, and Jared Strobel; and eight great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. on Friday June 27, 2014 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Entombment will follow at Owensboro Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday and from 8:30 a.m. until the time of service on Friday at the funeral home.
