Gertie Allen Faith, 85, of Owensboro, Ky.

OWENSBORO, Ky. – Gertie Allen Faith, 85, of Owensboro, Ky., passed away Sunday, June 29, 2014 at his home, surrounded by his family. Gertie Allen Faith was born March 25, 1929 in Owensboro, Ky. to the late Argyle Russell and Helen Ray Galloway Faith and was married to the former Martha Jean Sharpe on April 8, 1949. He was a farmer, a gospel singer, and so much more to all that knew him. Gertie Allen was a life-long member of Pleasant Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church, serving in numerous capacities. He left a strong legacy of faith to all who knew him, especially his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Gertie Allen was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Martha Jean Faith, who passed away January 29, 2010.

Survivors a son, Dr. Bill Faith and wife, Freda of Hendersonville, Tenn.; two daughters, Kathy Eby and husband, Dave and Celia Kay Munier and husband, Dave both of Elba; six grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Pleasant Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Wallace Renner and Rev. Al Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in McLean County. Friends may visit with Gertie Allen's family from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and from 10:30 a.m. until 12:15 p.m. Wednesday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel. A video tribute of Gertie Allen's life will be presented at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday at Musters in Calhoun.

The Gertie Allen Faith family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Pleasant Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church; 10851 Kentucky 593; Owensboro, Ky. 42301. Memorial contribution envelopes will be available at Musters in Calhoun.
