Laura Bell Johnston, 81, of Owensboro, Ky.

OWENSBORO, Ky. – Laura Bell Johnston, 81, of Owensboro, Ky. passed away Sunday, August 10, 2014, at her home. She was born on August 20, 1932 in Oklahoma to the late Percy Dooley and Dorothy Vanocker Dooley. She retired as a bookkeeper with Conner, Neal & Stevenson Law Firm. Laura was a WAVE with the United States Navy during the Korean War.

Survivors include her four sons, J. Johnston (Rhonda), Bob Johnston (Tracy), Hal Johnston (Rita), and Hayes Johnston (Debbie); nine grandchildren, Adam Johnston, Natalie Johnston, Dane Johnston, Robert Johnston, Joseph Johnston, Heather Johnston, Patrick Johnston, Magge Payne, and Ted Johnston; and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 13, 2014, at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro. Burial will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
